Today's blog is in memory of Jimmy Gatlin. <3
I walk up to the house and put my key in the lock, but I don’t hear little joyful squeals. I open the door and no one is there to
greet me or to dance a jig to be picked up. When I sit down in my living room chair no one wants up in my lap to cuddle. The reason is February 10th our 10-year-old rescue Chihuahua. Jimmy Gatlin passed away suddenly. He hadn’t been sick until that morning. He was breathing heavy and we made a vet appointment for that afternoon, he died an hour before his appointment.
Now I don’t want to dwell on sadness, but to celebrate the joy of Jimmy. He was with us for five, fun, filled years. He was the best dog. He loved sitting in our laps. I think he thought we would get jealous if he sat in just one of our laps. To remedy this, he hopped back and forth so he showed no favoritism. However, Jimmy spent most of his time with me when Chris was gone either to the cabin or on a Mission Trip. He kept me company, cuddled during TV time and slept right by my side. Jimmy protected me when Chris was gone with a sharp bark to let me know someone was at the door. If it was someone I knew I said,” Friend”, and he was pleased to greet them. Not one unkind word came from anyone that met Jimmy. Everyone liked Jimmy, but I sure did love him and will miss him always. Bye my Jimmy.
In memory of Jimmy, I’ll share a few of my favorite photos of him.
